The Selfless Side of a Selfish World | Riya Bansal | TEDxYouth@UCVTS

Riya Bansal, a high school sophomore, investigates how self-interest makes the world go ’round. We all are very different people and desire very different things, and our self-interest is perceived as a counterproductive force. Yet, in a world full of selfish people, surprising things can arise. This trait has a number of effects, ready to be explored. Riya is a lively sophomore at Union County Technical. Currently enrolled in the Academy for Law and Justice, she has a heed for worldly issues and solutions. She loves to express herself in everything she does, from her clothes to her voice. TEDx is an opportunity to combine these two and communicate to a large audience. She has a big heart and loves animals, especially dogs. She has a creative side as well through playing and listening to music as well as partaking in different forms of art. She is involved in a variety of clubs around school and loves to discover new things. Her hopes lie in getting into a field that has real influence in the future. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
