Using her lived experience of bipolar disorder on her journey to being a mental health advocate and mostly-functional adult, Sanchana shares everything she has learned about the power of honesty to achieving good mental health. Sometimes profound, sometimes shocking and always funny, she dissects the very concepts of honesty, how to approach life through the lens of honesty and then go on to build a clearer, mentally healthy life by living one’s absolute truth – every single day. Sanchana Krishnan is a mental health activist who founded Okay; Not Okay, an initiative to smash the silence around mental health in India. A lifetime with bipolar disorder has opened her mind to the multitude of human experiences and allowed her to master the art of difficult conversations that are so important for good mental health. When she isn’t planning campaigns to help India truly understand the many facets of mental health, she’s curled up with a book and chai. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
