To truly enjoy a book, a movie, a song, we have to use our imagination. But what if the thing that an art form lacks is precisely what makes it appealing to us? Julian Fernandez explores this idea.

Opening-reel animation created for TEDxJIS by Alexander Finch with music performed by Ricky Tjitradjaja.

An avid reader, prolific cinephile, and music-lover, Julian has been studying cultural expression within and outside school. He has presented two TEDx talks, both in his previous school in Argentina, where he also won a biology award. Flash forward to now, and Julian has expanded his horizons to explore debate, athletics, philosophy, literature and film. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
