Nikolaos Theodossiou is currently a professor at the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering and director of the Laboratory of Water Resources Engineering and Management of the Department of Civil Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Mr. Theodossiou deals with the management of water resources and the protection and restoration of the environment, and participates in various national or international scientific committees.
He presides over the Sustainable Development Network for the Greater Black Sea Region, under the aegis of the United Nations Secretary-General. In addition, he is president of the board of the Hellenic Hydrotechnical Association, Coordinator of the Environmental Council of AUTh, Director of the postgraduate program “Protection of the Environment and Sustainable Development”. His speech is based on the Sustainable Development Goals with 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 for the year 2030.
Nicolaos Theodossiou was born in Famagusta Cyprus.He is currently a professor at the Division of Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering and director of the Water Resources Engineering and Management Laboratory, of the Department of Civil Engineering of A.U.Th.

He is working on water resources management and on the protection and restoration of the environment, while participating in a number of national or international scientific committees. He has published more than 120 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings.

He is, amongst others, the president of the board of the Hellenic Hydrotechnical Association, Coordinator of the Environmental Council of AUTh, Director of the postgraduate program “Protection of the Environment and Sustainable Development”.
He chairs the Sustainable Development Solutions Network for the wider area of the Black Sea, operating under the auspices of the Secretary General of the United Nations.
